- To enhance organic agriculture for food safety as the mean of local population and agri-tourism consumers’ protection
- To raise awareness among the population of the selected target regions about healthy soil and strengthening organic farms as a part of a green economy;
- To increase the role of organic farms for agri-tourism popularization in target regions.
- To create LAGs as the effective bridges between the Action and local municipalities
- To establish greenhouses in the nature atmosphere using renewable/solar energy facilities
- To strengthen capacity building and create employment opportunities in target regions for improving livelihoods through increasing share of exports of agriculture-based products under the DCFTA
Target group(s
Groups of people, communities, farmers, stakeholders, women/youth, elderly people who are residents, refugees, eco-migrants or internally displaced persons in the Kakheti and Racha-Lechkhumi – Kvemo Svaneti regions
Final beneficiaries
Citizens of both regions who belong to the target groups as the participants of training and other activities, with received relevant knowledge and motivated to contribute to organic farming and agri-tourism development.
Expected outputs
- Improvement of the of regulatory framework for food safety as the basis for organic farming and agri-tourism development.
- Raised capacity and employment opportunities encourage final beneficiaries to use gained knowledge in exploring organic farming
- Reinforcement of the relationship between target groups, LAGs and governmental bodies as a stable basis for synergic cooperation
- Enhancement of food safety sustainability through establishment of long-term advocacy and oversight
Project will achieve the objectives by synergy of applicants demonstrated while creating and executing attractive activities: training, consultations, exchange of experiences, workshops, outdoors events. The Project will increase the awareness of the population about the use of organic waste processing technologies and the production of environmentally friendly bio-products, which will help to put household waste at the service of people and solve the most important problems.
The Project is devoted to organic farming for crop protection with EPNs to eliminate the use of chemicals, as guarantee of an environmentally friendly production. An innovation of the Project is the integrated plant protection system through combined use of biological pest control and vermitechnologies. Organic farming is one of the most attractive areas for people interested in agri-tourism. What is the basis of the interdisciplinarity of the presented project? It is widely known that food, agriculture and tourism (FAT) are closely interlinked.
